See you latter…NOT!

With this whole blogging unit we learn some “blogging etiquette” rules. One of the rules we learn, was to inform our readers if we were going to be gone for awhile. Well, this is me letting you that I will not be writing anymore. This project is now over and I’m done with it. So all you that were keeping up with my blog, which means all you creepers that were reading this, good bye!

Summer Where Are You?

I’m so looking forward to the summer! It is only about three weeks away. School projects and homework have been really hard on be for the past month. Today was our last soccer practice and tomorrow is our last game. With the end of soccer I should be somewhat less stressed. This summer I plan on get a part time job and my driver’s license (finally). I also plan on swimming a lot in my pool and just hanging out downtown!

I wish you would come sooner summer.

PS

We tied Pioneer yesterday! An improvement from the last game.

Soccer Life (Part 2)

When I was in 9th grade at Huron, I started out on the freshman team. But it did not come so easily, I was so nervous for the tryouts. I’m not quite sure why I was scarred, because all freshmen make a team. Once the season started it was a huge change from club. Having practice everyday after school was so weird. Most of our games were also on the weekdays and not on the weekends. Another big change was playing people that I didn’t really know. Team spirit was also very big in high school sports. I did not really like that, because I don’t really like Huron. The only things that I own that say Huron also have soccer right below it.

Both 10th and 11th grade I was nervous for tryouts again. Both these years I have made the JV team. But I have two different experiences through the two years. In 10th grade the team was pretty good, but the people on the team were not all the nicest. For me fitting in was hard I was not having much fun with the girls. This year I team is ok, but I love most of the girls on it. I’ve made so many new friends on the team this year. But with all the good there is bad too. This year our team also had so major problems with some people “breaking the rules” and our coach did not handle it very well.

For next year I don’t quite know what I want to do yet. I think about playing club and indoor, but not high school. I can’t really say anything is definite yet, because I might change my mind…

Soccer Life (Part 1)

I’ve talk about how I play soccer on here before, but not in much depth. I think it is time to let you guys know a little more. First off I started playing soccer when I was six years old in 1st grade. It was the only think that I really liked. I had tried both ballet and gymnastic, not excelling in either. I’m not hand-eye coordinated, I’m barely foot-eye coordinated, so I could not do anything with catching or throwing.

From 1st grade through 7th grade I just played Rec & Ed. At the end of 7th grade I made the switch to a club team. I’ve played with Ann Arbor United since. Once I started club I became aware the soccer was much more important to me then I ever thought before. I was playing all year round; indoor in the winter, soccer camp in the summer, and then the fall and spring seasons.

With joining club there were other changes too. Coaching has never been so much different. Learning new soccer skills was much more rewarding. I have also gone through many more coaching problems in club. I had one coach choose other team over our team midway during a season, because she did not like us. We had to have a sub coach for the remainder. On a more serious level, one coach had a drinking problem, stole money from the team, and then fled the county.

More to come soon…

PS
Tomorrow we play Pioneer. I sure hope we beat them this time!

Skip practice, go to a concert!

Last night I went to a concert in Brighton with my friend Kelsey. She is on the JV team with me. We both skipped practice, so that we could be to the concert on time. The bands that we saw were: Hit The Lights, Every Avenue, The Swellers, Sing It Loud, and Farewell.

Before the concert we went and got food from Wendy’s. The concert was at the Meijer Skate Park in Brighton. When we got there, we got in line and waited for a bit while we at our food.

The first band to play was some local band that I didn’t really know anything about. Next, The Swellers, a Michigan band, played. It was my 5th time seeing them, and they’ve never disappoint. Sing It Loud and Farewell also played. Every Avenue, another Michigan band, put on an amazing performance. This was the 2nd concert that I have seen of theirs. The headliner, Hit The Lights, played last. I thought that they were really funny and good!

After the bands were all done Kelsey and I went to the merch tables. We got some pictures with some of the band members and I bought a CD. Then we thought that it would be fun to go play around in the Meijer, that was in front of the skate park. Being the girls we are, we tried on basically every single pair of sunglasses. Then, we got hungry and went to the food section. We bought cookie dough and drinks to fill our tummies!

I love going to shows with my friends. It is one of my all time favorite things to do.

Last Home Game

We won our last home game! We played Bedford on Thursday and won 1-0. The last time we played Bedford we beat them 7-0. So it was good that we won, but we should have done a lot better.

But for me it was a very good game. I scored that one goal. It was my first goal of the season for me. It was the perfect set up, and an assist from a team mate of mine.

We have two more games left, Pioneer and Chelsea, and I want to win both!

I went to the Zooooooo!

Yesterday, I went to the Detroit Zoo with my photography class. Even though it was cold and wet outside, I still had a fun time. To see all the little kids excited was fun too. My favorite part of the whole trip was the seal and polar bear water tunnel. It’s the part where the seals and polar bears are able to swim over your head in a plastic tunnel.

Last year I also went to the zoo for a photo class, and had just as much fun. Only this year I think I had better pictures.

No matter how old you are I think you can always have fun at the zoo!
